MHC, MSB strike partnership

Malawi Savings Bank (MSB) continues to strive to make itself a one-stop banking service provider with a new partnership with the Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) that will see the bank collecting monthly house rentals on behalf of MHC, "MHC has houses across the country and this [collection of rentals] is convenient for their customers in that they will not travel long distances because MSB is in every city and town across the country," said Dora Banda, MSB marketing manager.

She said MSB 36 agencies and five branches. According to Banda, this service has been made possible by the bank's wide area network. The service is open to all MHC customers re¬gardless of whether or not they are MSB clients. MHC tenants present their bills at any MSB branch or agency and they are issued a receipt as proof of payment. These details are then sent to MHC so that they update their details.
